SALARY: $81,900 – $96,356

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT: The Business Case Developer is accountable for developing and delivering comprehensive, data-driven business cases that advance Ontario Northland’s strategic goals and operational improvements. This role is responsible for collaborating with internal leaders and external stakeholders to analyze opportunities and ensure initiatives align with corporate objectives.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write complete, well-structured business cases that clearly outline objectives, benefits, risks, and implementation plans.
  • Create clear, concise, and persuasive content tailored for diverse audiences
  • Ensure all business cases are, well-documented, data-driven and aligned with corporate priorities and industry standards
  • Conduct research on market trends, competitive landscape, and internal performance metrics to support recommendations
  • Incorporate visuals (charts, tables) and ensure technical accuracy through collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Monitor business case progress through approval and implementation stages
  • Provide ongoing support to business units during continuous improvement efforts and refine the business case process using stakeholder feedback and best practices
  • Maintain accurate, consistent, and traceable documentation for all business cases
  • Perform compliance checks to ensure adherence to internal policies and governance frameworks
  • Deliver guidance to business units on effective business case development
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices to strengthen organizational capability in business case development

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Transportation Planning, Economics, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in business planning, project management, business case development, transportation infrastructure, grant writing or strategic planning
  • Knowledge of Ontario’s transportation policies and regulatory environment is an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint); experience with data analysis tools is an asset
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication, presentation, and planning skills
