About The Role As an HR Co-op Student, you will be reporting to our Generalist, People & Culture to support day-to-day HR operations and talent initiatives across the employee lifecycle. This role is a 8-month term and is ideal for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in onboarding, employee engagement, recruiting, and HR administration in a professional services environment.

What You’ll Do

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Support

  • Assist with job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling
  • Coordinate candidate communications and follow-ups
  • Support recruitment events and campus outreach (as needed)
  • Help maintain applicant tracking and recruitment documentation
  • Support proactive sourcing efforts by identifying and engaging top talent through platforms such as LinkedIn and school portals
  • Track employee referrals throughout the recruitment process and maintain accurate referral records

Onboarding & HR Administration

  • Support new hire onboarding tasks (paperwork, checklists, coordination)
  • Assist with maintaining employee records and HR documentation in BambooHR
  • Help prepare internal HR communications and updates
  • Support general HR inbox inquiries and routing requests to the right team member
  • Responsible for new hire check-ins and supporting the onboarding process through regular touchpoints to ensure new hires feel supported
  • Manage and maintain employee data in BambooHR to ensure data integrity and support HR reporting needs.
  • Track coffee chats with regards to our internal accountants and external candidates

Projects & Team Support

  • Support engagement initiatives (surveys, events, recognition, etc.)
  • Help support internal and external events hosted by us (catering, research and booking venue, etc.)
  • Help update HR templates, guides, and internal resources
  • Contribute to process improvements and HR projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (HR, Business, Psychology, or related field) and eligible for a co-op term
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Eager to learn attitude and technology-savvy

Preferred

  • Interest in recruitment and employee experience
  • Experience with administrative support, customer service, or office work
  • Exposure to HR systems such as BambooHR (asset, not required)
