Internal Audit Manager
About the role
Our client, a leading Canadian bank, is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager to support its Internal Audit team with audits across the bank's Insurance portfolio and Compliance functions. This is a 3 month contract with expectation to be in office 3-4 days/week in Downtown Toronto.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute risk-based audits across insurance operations and regulatory compliance. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management frameworks. Evaluate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. Identify control gaps, document audit findings, and provide practical recommendations for improvement. Prepare clear audit reports and present findings to stakeholders. Partner with business leaders to monitor and validate remediation activities.
Qualifications: 5+ years of internal audit experience within a large financial institution, preferably in banking. Strong experience auditing insurance businesses and/or compliance functions. Solid understanding of risk management, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks. Experience conducting end-to-end audit engagements. Professional designation such as CIA, CPA, CISA, or a related certification is an asset. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
