About the role
Position Overview We are seeking a lawyer to work remotely, providing support services to senior lawyers and clients across Canada. The successful candidate will work independently while having access to resources and mentorship from senior lawyers. Experience or interest in the following practice areas is highly desirable:
- Commercial Real Estate
- Corporate
- Commercial
- Indigenous Governance
- Indigenous Economic Development
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
The ideal candidate is dedicated, quick to learn, and comfortable in a collaborative environment. The firm values independence, transparency, and skill development.
Key Responsibilities Commercial Real Estate:
- Conduct due diligence for transactions
- Support negotiations for acquisitions, dispositions, and leases
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial lease agreements
- Assist in land development and financing projects
Indigenous Businesses & Governments
- Provide legal counsel on corporate organization, governance, policy, and procurement
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
- Advise on law/policy development, financing, and Government-to-Government agreements
- Guide clients through consultation and accommodation processes
Private Businesses & Entrepreneurs
- Support start-ups and high-growth businesses in incorporations, organization, and transactions
- Advise on equity and debt financing, securities compliance, and regulatory matters
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements across industries
General Legal Support
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents
- Conduct legal research and contribute to publications
- Maintain organized case files using practice management software
Client Communication
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly
Qualifications
- Law degree with 3-6 years of practice in business-related legal fields
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
