Position Summary
The Specialist, Alumni Advancement (Bilingual) plays a vital role in supporting NPower Canada’s alumni who return seeking employment or career advancement services. Reporting to the Manager, Alumni Advancement & Engagement, this position primarily focuses on the Alumni Services pillar, with a primary responsibility for providing personalized employment supports, connecting alumni to career resources, and helping them access job opportunities.
The incumbent will manage a caseload of alumni not yet placed within six months of graduation, as well as alumni who return seeking additional employment support. This role combines elements of both an Employment Specialist and Talent Matching roles, providing direct service delivery while also sourcing and identifying opportunities through independent job searches and employer partnerships.
While employment support is the core function, the Specialist, Alumni Advancement will also be asked to contribute to Alumni Engagement. This may include assisting with alumni events, supporting communications such as newsletters or LinkedIn updates, and helping to foster a welcoming, personalized experience for alumni who return to NPower Canada. By participating in these engagement activities, the Specialist helps maintain strong trust and connection with alumni, ensuring that services feel responsive, relevant, and community driven.
Accountabilities & Deliverables
Alumni Employment Supports

Provide alumni with direct, personalized employment supports including: resume support, mock Interviews and interview preparation, job search coaching and navigation of job boards, alumni-to-alumni networking referrals, access to NPower Canada tools including Devant and Kibbi

Actively manage a caseload of: driving Employment outcomes with Alumni Post 6 months who are engaged and active in the Job Search Process with specific focus on 12th month mark of the Alumni Journey and Alumni returning to seek employment support.

Ensure alumni are connected to employer opportunities through NPower Canada’s ATS, Kibbi, and partner employers.

Work with alumni to identify career goals, match opportunities, and create individualized action plans.

Support alumni in registering for and accessing independent upskilling opportunities through IBM SkillsBuild and other partner platforms.

Manage Alumni Association LinkedIn Page to share opportunities for alumni to engage, including events, job opportunities, and alumni initiative
Job Development & Talent Matching

Independently source and identify relevant employment opportunities through job boards, employer Partner websites, and professional networks.

Use Tools such as Salesforce and Kibbi to identify, track, and share employment opportunities with alumni.

Utilize the Application Tracking System (ATS) to efficiently match alumni to available job orders.

Build and maintain relationships with employer partners to identify and promote alumni hiring opportunities.

Share job leads with alumni and actively support them in applying to and preparing for opportunities.

Identify opportunities for further Job Development and Engagement based on Alumni Data with new and established employer partners.

Partner with National and Regional Job development to create a pipeline of Experienced talent for mid to advanced roles not commonly supplied by Current Cohort/6 Month Post Program Support.

Provide feedback to the Manager, Alumni Association on employer trends and alumni hiring challenges.
Customer Service & Alumni Experience
- Strive to deliver excellent, responsive, and empathetic support to every alumni interaction.
- Ensure alumni feel welcomed, supported, and respected throughout their career journey and time with NPower Canada.
- Combining a proactive and reactive approach to Alumni engagement including new engagement initiatives, strategies to support employment, and skills development
- Maintain consistent communication with alumni who have returned seeking support until they are successfully employed or have achieved their desired outcome.
Data Collection & Records Management

Collect updated employment and other relevant data for all alumni who return for services.

Ensure all alumni records are accurate and up-to-date within Salesforce and related systems.

Track alumni outcomes and service delivery data to support reporting and continuous improvement.

Provide regular updates to the Manager, Alumni Association on caseload progress, alumni outcomes, and trends.
Who You Are
-
Experience in employment services, workforce development, job development, or career advising.

Must be fully bilingual French/English

Strong customer service orientation with a passion for supporting alumni in achieving sustainable employment.

Proven ability to deliver employment support such as resume review, interview preparation, and job search coaching.

Skilled at sourcing, identifying, and sharing relevant employment opportunities from both online platforms and employer partners.

Organized and detail-oriented with strong data entry and record-keeping skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload, prioritize alumni needs, and follow through on commitments.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with alumni from diverse backgrounds.

Comfortable using digital tools, platforms, and databases (e.g., Devant/Kibbi, Salesforce).
