PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a full-time permanent Financial Operations Controller.

Position Summary PRIDE Seeds is seeking a Financial Operations Controller who is a highly organized and detail-oriented Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to lead and coordinate the implementation of SAP within our finance function. This role bridges technical systems implementation with core financial operations, ensuring a smooth transition and integration of SAP into our accounting and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting, a proactive approach to systems coordination, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Position reports to PRIDE Seeds Vice President, Finance & Administration.

Responsibilities SAP Implementation Coordination

  • Act as the finance lead for SAP implementation, ensuring alignment with accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT, consultants, and cross-functional teams to define system specifications and workflows.
  • Support data migration, testing, training, and go-live activities.
  • Identify and resolve system-related issues during and after implementation.

General Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Oversee and manage general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE/IFRS and internal controls.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

Product Costing & Inventory Accounting

  • Coordinate and analyze product costing processes, including standard cost updates and variance analysis.
  • Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost reporting.

Audit & Tax Support

  • Assist in the preparation of working papers and documentation for external audits.
  • Support the preparation of corporate income tax filings and liaise with external tax advisors.

Duties may be amended by the Company as may be reasonably required.

Education/Experience

  • University degree in accounting.
  • CPA designation (CPA Canada) is mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial systems roles.

Knowlede/Skills/Abilities

  • Hands-on experience with SAP (S/4HANA or ECC) implementation or major ERP systems is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP (ASPE or IFRS), tax compliance, and audit processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and relationship/team building skills.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation.
  • Knowledge of the seed industry preferred.
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
