About the role
Reporting to the Mechanical Operations Manager, you’ll be the one setting daily and weekly goals that align with the overall project schedule and plan, completing 1-week and 6-week look aheads, and leading the Sheet Metal team on site to meet project targets.
You’ll travel for work to locations throughout BC, the Yukon and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews typically work 21/7 rotations, travel in and out of various locations, work 10-hour shifts on average. Perks include well-maintained crew housing, flights to and from site from the nearest airport, a Living Out Allowance, full benefits, and an RRSP program.
As our newest Sheet Metal Lead, your expertise and attention to detail will be key as you install ductwork, ventilation systems, and make-up air systems, ensuring everything is aligned with the plans and specifications. Alongside the Site Superintendent, you monitor QA/QC, identifying and addressing any quality concerns, and you’ll see to it that your team's scope of work on a project gets completed on time.
Here’s what you’ll do:

Plan and manage work schedules, adjusting as needed to keep things on track.

Ensure that everything under your scope is built to specifications and is compliant with codes/regulations.

Interpret blueprints, drawings and work with specifications.

Repair existing air and heat ducts and hoods, ensuring continued efficiency.

Handle tools and equipment with care, making sure everything stays in great shape.

Safety is a top priority. You’ve set the standard for safety with your team. You ensure all measures meet or exceed regulatory requirements and safety is top of mind at all times.

Here’s what you bring to the role:

You bring a minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Sheet Metal Lead/Foreperson in the construction industry
-
You're a Red Seal Sheet Metal Journeyperson
-
You have a strong working knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning – HVAC.
-
You’re dependable and a self-starter – you show up to work on time and get the job done.
-
Safety is not an afterthought – you have a history of working safely and making sure equipment is in the best working order possible.

You’re proficient with MS Office 365, Bluebeam and are familiar with Procore and OUtbuild
-
You already hold or are willing to obtain Leadership for Safety Excellence, Fall protection, WHMIS 2015, Elevated Work Platform, and Level 1 First Aid.
