About the role
The Communications Executive Assistant supports with the planning and coordination of all administrative duties and assists in all aspects of program planning and delivery. The EA creates and manages information systems, tracks documentation, creates and tracks action items, and assists with financial controls and staff assignments.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that reports, data, records, minutes and other information are maintained, filed and organized.

Assist in the review of all monthly and annual financial statements, development and maintenance of budgets and completion of financial reports as required.

Draft reports and briefing notes as directed, assembling materials and reports as needed.

Provide administrative support for the Communications Manager.
-
Prepare for and participate in the CHN Reporting Out Sessions, House of Assembly, and other meetings that may be scheduled.

Support with supervising staff to coordinate work, provide direction, ensure timely completion of tasks and workflow monitoring.

Research and develop communications, culture, and language policies and procedures.
-
Track, assist, and implement relevant departmental timelines and schedules.

Ensure systems are in place to maintain confidentiality.
-
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Certificate in Business Administration OR coursework in similar discipline or a combination of education and experience.

Proficiency in Office 365.
-
Excellent transcription, written and verbal communication skills.
-
Excellent organizational, coordination and time management skills.
-
Experienced in managing information systems, detail orientated.
-
Experienced in operating at a professional, confidential level as part of a team.
-
Previous experience in culture and/or language is not mandatory, but knowledge of the Haida Gwaii community is necessary.

Understanding of Haida culture and governance.
-
Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
-
Preference will be given to candidates of Haida ancestry.
