Now Hiring an Experienced HET Truck and Transport Mechanic to join our growing team! If you take pride in solving problems and leading by example, you?ll fit in with Streamline Fleet.

Shift and Schedule Options

7 and 7 or 14 and 14, 12-hours per day. Full-time, Permanent.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Reporting to the service manager, the HET Truck and Transport Mechanic is responsible for performing repair and maintenance of a wide variety of vehicles (buses, trucks and trailers) and heavy construction equipment. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspect and diagnose customer vehicles and equipment to identify repair/maintenance needs.
  • Perform quality repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIPs).
  • Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices.
  • Ensure a safe, clean and organized workshop.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Red Seal or Provincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
  • Additional tickets would be an asset
  • Strong experience with on-road heavy trucks and commercial fleet equipment
  • Proficient in diagnostics, electrical, hydraulic, air brake, and engine systems
  • Experience with diesel engines, emissions systems, and computerized diagnostics
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work safely in fast-paced and high-demand operating environments
  • Strong understanding of Alberta safety requirements and safe work practices
  • CVIP license considered a strong asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver?s license required; Class 1 or 3 considered an asset
  • Acceptable driver?s abstract
  • Valid Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) ticket would be an asset
  • Valid OSSA ticket would be an asset

Required Skills:

  • Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., ten (20) time per day
  • Computer skills and ability to complete accurate repair documentation and communicate professionally with customers and operations personnel
  • Effective verbal, listening, reading and writing English communication skills
  • Comfortable making decisions and owning outcomes
  • Takes pride in doing the job right the first time
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a fully equipped, well lit, clean and organized 10,000 square foot repair heavy-duty and automotive repair facility as well as outside and on site. We have a steady workflow supported by established fleet and commercial customers. Overtime may be required from time to time.
