The Role

As the Email Marketing Specialist, you will support the execution and optimization of MEC’s email marketing programs, helping drive online demand, store traffic, and overall marketing performance. You will bring campaigns and lifecycle journeys to life through strong execution, attention to detail, and continuous optimization.

You will partner closely with the Growth & Lifecycle Marketing Manager, who defines lifecycle strategy, segmentation frameworks, and communication priorities. This role focuses on executing and improving those programs, ensuring emails are delivered accurately, on time, and with strong performance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is looking to deepen their experience in lifecycle marketing, segmentation, and campaign execution. You are detail-oriented, curious about customer behaviour, and motivated to use data and testing to improve results over time.

Location: This is a 2 to 3 day week in-office hybrid position based at MEC’s Vancouver Office.

As the Email Marketing Specialist, you’ll:

  • Campaign Execution - Build, QA, and deploy email campaigns across promotional, seasonal, and evergreen programs. Manage day-to-day execution including segmentation setup, scheduling, and send coordination to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lifecycle Marketing Support - Build and maintain automated email flows such as welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, and post-purchase journeys. Monitor performance and implement updates based on defined lifecycle strategy and priorities.
  • Campaign Support - Support the execution of email programs aligned to MEC’s seasonal calendar and Go-to-Market campaigns. Translate campaign briefs into effective email sends, ensuring alignment with messaging, timing, audience strategy, and store traffic objectives where applicable.
  • Segmentation & Audience Builds - Create and deploy audience segments based on defined segmentation strategies, campaign requirements, and customer behaviour. Ensure accurate targeting and audience selection for all sends.
  • Content & Merchandising Alignment - Partner with Creative and Merchandising teams to ensure email content reflects product priorities, promotions, and brand messaging. Support product setup, linking, and content QA to ensure accuracy.
  • Testing & Optimization - Execute A/B tests across subject lines, creative, and send timing based on defined testing priorities. Support testing of new capabilities, including POS and OMS-triggered communications, ensuring accurate setup, QA, and performance tracking. Track results and share insights to support ongoing optimization.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting - Monitor and report on key email metrics including open rate, click-through rate, conversion, revenue, and store traffic contribution where applicable. Support regular reporting and provide insights to improve campaign performance.
  • List Health & Deliverability - Maintain best practices for list hygiene, segmentation quality, and deliverability. Support initiatives that improve marketable list growth, including data capture and consent quality. Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and email marketing standards.

What you bring:

  • 2–4+ years of experience in email marketing or CRM, and in retail or ecommerce.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with email platforms (e.g.,Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of segmentation, lifecycle flows, and email automation
  • Strong attention to detail across campaign setup, QA, and execution
  • Comfortable working with data and performance metrics (Excel, GA, or similar tools)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

The Compensation & Perks

This is a permanent role with the anticipated salary range of $65,500 to $81,100 base + bonus. The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications and internal equity.
