The Opportunity
To maintain the cleanliness of the City’s Recreation Facilities, specifically the pool deck, changerooms, washrooms, lockers, steam and sauna and showers areas.
Accountabilities
Complete building security checks.
- Collect and change refuse, recycling and lost and found items.
- Clean washrooms - toilets, floors, mirrors, sinks, baby change stations.
- Clean lockers.
- Clean and disinfect changerooms / floors / showers etc.
- Clean and disinfect steam and sauna areas including floors and benches.
- Scrub and disinfect pool deck.
- Remove and clean pool ladders and equipment.
- Clean the pool interior
- Ensure walkways and exit doors are free of snow and ice.
- Replenish toiletries.
- Vacuum rugs, clean walls, windows and furniture.
- Operates a variety of cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, pool vacuum, floor vacuum and polishers.
- Facility set ups a required.
- Other duties as required.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work. Qualifications
Education: Graduation from High School
Experience: Previous commercial cleaning experience
Other: Ability to work as a team to carry out verbal & written instructions. Ability to maintain good communications. Must be comfortable working around a swimming pool
Working Conditions
- This position will work in a fast-paced and a multi-tasked recreation environment.
- Will be required to evening shifts.
- Some weekend work may be required.

Physical Requirements
Position requires physical stamina as the incumbent is required to complete repetitive tasks like sweeping, mopping and vacuuming large surface areas and lifting tables. The incumbent must be able to lift (minimum 35 pounds) and will be required to twist, bend, and squat in order to complete the duties. Some computer experience may be required.
