Reporting to the VP, Finance, we are seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to join their Ottawa-based team. This critical role will oversee a small team of finance professionals as well as the preparation and review of internal and external financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, self-reliant professional with significant and progressive experience in financial reporting and accounting. They will be naturally curious, articulate, personable, and have a passion for work, along with a strong desire to learn and grow. Excellent Excel skills are essential, as is the ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret Level security clearance. Main responsibilities include:
- Prepare consolidated financial statements
- Review financial disclosures to ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead accounting policy updates and assess ASPE changes
- Manage month and quarter-end close processes
- Present financial results to senior leadership and the board
- Provide expertise on complex accounting issues
- Liaise with external auditors during interim and year-end audits
- Strengthening reporting processes and internal controls
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, transparent reporting

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA, CA, or equivalent certification required
- 6+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Advanced Excel skills
- Minimum five years of residency in Canada and the ability to obtain Government secret level clearance
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex accounting topics to non-experts
- Experience in a project environment is an asset
Compensation:
- $140,000 - $160,000 salary range
- Hybrid work model
