Toronto West boundaries:
-West - Highway 27 -North - Steeles Avenue -East - Keele Street -South - Lakeshore Blvd
Toronto Central boundaries:
-West - Keele Street -North - Steeles Avenue -East - Victoria Park -South - Lakeshore Blvd
**WHAT HOURS YOU’LL WORK:**This opportunity has no set permanent work schedule.
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WORK THE FOLLOWING:

Work acrossToronto West and Toronto Central

A minimumof 4 days per week, scheduled betweenMonday and Sunday

Of the 4 days,at least 1 must be a weekend day(Saturday or Sunday)

Must be able to worka minimum 6-hour shiftbetween3:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.

Example shifts include:
- 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

WHAT WE OFFER:
- $21.356 - $23.736 per hour plus $3/hr wage premium for eligible hours worked| Paid 30 minutes travel allowance | $0.40/hour in lieu of benefits (Group Benefits if full-time)

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- You will be part of a team that will be provide supports to a specific group of clients. When out in the community you will work independently in clients’ homes. You will establish and maintain your relationships with clients. You will provide personal support services for clients in their homes to assist with activities of daily living. (Including: lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, respiration, meals/drinks, general hygiene).
- Be part of the SEIU union
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- A passion for providing exceptional personal support services to male/female clients
- Ability to lift and transfer clients
- Manages time in co-operation with clients to complete tasks
- Ability to accept direction from client's regarding services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and judgment skills
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 computer skills (Outlook, Word)
HOW TO QUALIFY:
- Completed a PSW Program that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association and must be 600 hours in duration (including class time and practical experience time). This also includes a PSW Program from an Adult and Continuing Education School Board.
- 6 Months PSW experience gained in the physical disabilities sector
- Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) membership would be considered an asset
- Proof of First Aid and CPR certificate
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Person)
- Ability to travel between client appointments and willingness to work in the community

About PACE Independent Living
PACE Independent Living is a charitable, non-profit community support service organization that provides services to adults with disabilities who choose to live independent lives. PACE provides services to approximately 300+ individuals who have a variety of disabilities including multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, and muscular dystrophy.
Services are provided in supportive housing sites (24/7 through pre-booked services as well as emergency services) and through Attendant Services - at home, school or work on a pre-booked basis. PACE also offers short and long-term community based support services at both a supportive housing site (Edwards Manor) and an adult day program facility (Paula Cassin Learning Centre) for individuals living with the effects of an acquired brain injury (abi). At the abi day programs, PACE workshops provide individuals opportunities to practice new skills, learn new information, or to "re-learn" and practice old skills and information impacted by the brain injury. Individuals are partnered with staff coaches who help define goals, keep the person on track, and provide extra support if needed.
PACE receives funding support through Ontario Health Toronto Region
