About the role

A career with the National Bank's National Client Group means assisting primarily large private companies with their complex financing needs, the majority of which are between $25 and $400 million. As Director, National Client Group based in Montreal, you will be responsible for growing the portfolio of business clients assigned to you. The varied and complex tasks will allow you to quickly become a privileged guide in all your clients' financial projects, such as company acquisitions, project financing or recapitalization.

Your role

Grow and manage a portfolio of large corporate clients ($25M–$400M financing needs) through proactive business development and relationship management. Advise clients on complex financial transactions, including acquisitions, recapitalizations, syndicated financings, and strategic growth initiatives. Structure and negotiate financing solutions that balance client objectives, risk management standards, and profitability targets. Partner with Capital Markets and internal experts to deliver integrated banking and advisory solutions. Expand National Bank's market presence through networking and by leveraging a strong professional ecosystem. Act as a leader and trusted advisor, contributing to team development and the achievement of business objectives.

Your Team

The National Client Group ("NCG") is comprised of approximately 30 finance professionals and operates in a highly competitive and dynamic environment. You will report to the General Manager and Co-Head Western Quebec - National Client Group. Our training programs use on-the-job learning to help you master your role. You can access personalized training content on such topics as banking solutions and the advisory approach to support your ongoing learning. You’ll also have access to colleagues with a wide range of expertise, experience, and backgrounds to enrich all aspects of your development.

Prerequisites

Based on your academic background, at least 8 years of experience in sales and business development within the financial industry: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience Master's degree and 8 years of experience Mastery of the syndication process, due to the size of transactions, an asset In-depth expertise in financial and business analysis and understanding of inherent risks Solid experience in commercial credit, and with mergers and acquisitions Experience in sales and business development Network of professional contacts among local medium-size and large enterprises, an asset Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Languages: French, English
