Job Title: Java Developer
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid) Position Summary We are seeking a strong Java Developer with 7 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Java/JEE development to support the delivery of key initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong programming fundamentals, excellent object-oriented design skills, and the ability to design and implement scalable solutions. This role requires a self-driven individual who works well in a collaborative Agile environment, adapts quickly to changing requirements, and is eager to learn new technologies and in-house frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Develop high-quality, optimized, efficient, and clean Java/JEE code. Transform business and technical requirements into working solutions. Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and sprint meetings. Design and implement scalable solutions using object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Develop and maintain applications using Java and related technologies. Write unit tests that cover all major logic components of the application. Package and deploy web applications using DevOps tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity. Work in Linux/Unix environments and develop shell scripts as needed. Collaborate with global teams and communicate project status effectively. Learn and apply in-house frameworks and Java development best practices.
Required Skills
7 - 15 years of hands-on experience in Java/JEE development. Strong programming experience with Java 8+. Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and Design Patterns. Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate. Experience with Layered Architecture and Component-Based Architecture. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with Linux, Unix, and Shell Scripting. DevOps experience with packaging and deploying web applications using Jenkins, TeamCity, or similar tools. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to write comprehensive unit tests.
Preferred Skills
Strong database skills, including PL/SQL and query tuning. Experience with Unix scripting, Python, or Perl. Experience developing web applications, batch applications, or streaming applications. Prior experience in finance or legal operations is beneficial.
