Your Opportunity:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting equipment between care areas within the Calgary Correctional Sites. You will distribute and replenish supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to the Health Services Manager and perform other duties as required.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/ residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Critical thinking, prioritizing requests, and scheduling time as necessary. Fluent in speaking/reading/writing English. Must be able to follow verbal & written instructions. Reliable, cooperative and ability to demonstrate effective service attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous corrections experience is an asset. Knowledge of corrections procedures and equipment operation. Customer service experience. Previous related job experience. A valid WHMIS certificate is an asset. Basic computer proficiency and experience with Connect Care. Trained in the “Move Safe” ergonomic program and the “It’s Your Move” client handling program.
