We are now preparing for our upcoming commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.
We are seeking Equipment & Facilities Technicians who will be responsible for overseeing the operations of plant and facilities equipment, facility upgrades and retrofits as well as managing the assembly, repair and upkeep of equipment used in the production of the Globe Catheter for treatment of atrial fibrillation. The successful candidates will report directly to the Equipment Maintenance Team Lead, with an indirect reporting relationship to the Facilities Team Lead to support cross-functional alignment.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Meaningful work you will be a part of
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Work on the installation of critical facility infrastructure
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems such as HVAC, compressed air, water purification systems, building management systems and environmental monitoring systems
- Act as first level escalation for facilities & equipment failures
- Design, install and maintain fixtures, equipment and infrastructure to improve manufacturing processes
- Gather and assess data and reports to develop conclusions that guide decision-making and planning processes
- Execute Installation Qualification (IQs) test plans for new and revised equipment
- Assist with the implementation and documentation of new equipment and changes to existing equipment
- Oversee contractors handling maintenance tasks
- Manage schedules and documentation for calibration work completed by external 3rd party vendors
- Follow facility regulations, safety standards and building codes
- Predict problems or risks and develop plans to avoid or mitigate them

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment such as ISO13485 or AS9100 preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment is desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment an advantage but not mandatory
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
- $60,000 - $80,000 (CAD Annually)
