We are hiring an experienced and collaborative Wireless System Administrator to join our team and support the performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our mission-critical radio network.
As a Wireless System Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, database administration, and performance monitoring of E-Comm’s wide-area radio system. Working closely with radio network contractors and partner agencies, you will ensure seamless service delivery through accurate system datafill, ongoing maintenance, and system upgrades. This role is instrumental in supporting the operational integrity and expansion of the network that public safety agencies rely on every day.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain system datafill to support network commissioning, expansion, and service enhancements
-
Manage and maintain radio system databases, including user equipment configurations and operating parameters
-
Perform system software upgrades, configure radio personalities, and ensure alignment with manufacturer standards
-
Collect, analyze, and report performance and traffic data; identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement
-
Provide recommendations for corrective actions in collaboration with Wireless Operations and Engineering teams
-
Maintain comprehensive records of system inventory, maintenance activities, and site documentation
-
Support planning activities related to system upgrades, expansion, and equipment replacement
-
Respond to client agency service requests in a timely, customer-focused manner
-
Perform related administrative and technical duties to support network reliability and performance
What you will bring:
-
Completion of a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field, plus relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Valid BC Driver’s License
-
Strong understanding of wireless communication systems, mobile radio technology, and telecommunications infrastructure
-
Working knowledge of networked and computer environments
-
Experience with system datafill development and radio system database management
-
Ability to collect, monitor, and analyze system performance data and recommend improvements
-
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with contractors, engineering teams, and client agencies
-
Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision

Customer service orientation with the ability to respond quickly and adapt to changing needs

Security Requirements:
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is five [5] years.
To qualify for this process, a candidate may either be a Canadian Permanent Resident [PR] or Canadian Citizens. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.
Vaccination Requirements: E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
