About the Role
The Manager, Partnership Development, Agriculture & Food plays a vital role in helping ensure communities across Canada have access to nutritious food by building meaningful partnerships within the agriculture and agri-food sector. Reporting to the Director, National Food Acquisition, this role focuses on securing and growing food donations by collaborating with producers, manufacturers, and industry partners, primarily across Atlantic Canada. Combining relationship building, strategic outreach, and data-informed planning, the Manager works closely with food bank partners and distribution networks to support the efficient recovery and redistribution of food while advancing innovative approaches that increase the quality, quantity, and impact of donations. What You Will Be Doing
- Manage and implement strategies to acquire food, ensuring alignment with donation goals and mission in the agriculture and agri-food sectors across primarily in Atlantic Canada
- Work closely with the food bank network to ensure the efficient recovery and distribution of donated food
- Cultivate relationships with agricultural producer groups, growers, processors, packers, shippers, manufacturers and wholesalers to increase quality and quantity of food donations
- Manage and execute targeted sales and strategic plans to increase food donations
- Create and deliver high impact, persuasive presentations and proposals for potential donors and partners using effective techniques to communicate the value of supporting Food Banks Canada and the impact of their contributions
- Monitor and report on the success of donor acquisition efforts and food donation campaigns
What You Will Need
- Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of sales and/or fundraising experience, with a track record of successful results and the proven ability to build and maintain excellent customer/donor relationships
- Demonstrated experience in agriculture, agri-business and or food procurement and sales
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset
- Entrepreneurial, results oriented, self-motivated by success and demonstrates ability to meet and exceed goals with minimal direction
- Highly energetic and enthusiastic, takes initiative with a strong sense of urgency
- Collaborative team player, capable of working well with others in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively network and build relationships quickly
Working Conditions
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work
- This position is remote, but requires frequent regional travel, requiring the candidate to be based within 200km of Moncton, New Brunswick or Halifax, Nova Scotia
- Occasional travel within Canada may be required
