The Lifeguard is responsible for delivering service that exceeds guest expectations while fostering positive, productive relationships within the organization and with guests. This role ensures the safety of all guests in and out of the water by enforcing established rules and procedures, while maintaining a professional and welcoming public image.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Team
- Willingness to accept the most effective role.
- Advise aquatics management of unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
- Perform daily routine chores and maintenance of waterpark to ensure neat and orderly appearance.
- Always maintain a professional atmosphere in the Waterpark area.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Close with an open mentality.
- Keep all areas in like-new condition and website ready.
Guest
- Ensure guests are greeted and acknowledged consistently, adhering to the 10/5 Rule.
- Oversees and monitors swimmers and guests throughout park hours and special events to ensure safety and compliance.
- Delivers outstanding service during every guest interaction, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Enforces waterpark rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of activity pools and flume attractions to assist guests effectively.
- Engages with an average of 1,400 guests daily, offering one-on-one communication in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provides exceptional customer service by assisting guests promptly and respectfully.
- Demonstrates expertise in delivering expert care, sensitivity, and efficient service to all guests.
- Communicate with guests in a professional and friendly manner.
Qualifications & Traits
- Hold valid certifications in Standard First Aid & CPR Level C.
- Maintain a current Bronze Cross and/or National Lifeguard certification (valid for 2 years)
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage significant responsibilities with reliability.
- Committed to exceeding guest expectations by delivering exceptional service.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of working in a hot, humid, and chlorinated environment and standing for lengthy periods of time.
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Able to maintain fitness requirements for certifications and licenses and hold awards.
Additional Requirements
Newly hired Pack Members must submit a completed police clearance to Human Resources. Employment may begin before the results are received, based on the Pack Member’s confirmation that they have no unpardoned criminal convictions. If the clearance reveals a conviction, the employer may terminate employment on a case-by-case basis, providing only the minimum notice required under the Employment Standards Act, 2000, with no additional notice or compensation.
