Job Summary

Reporting to the Nurse Manager , this position is responsible for clinical oversight of the INVIVA clinics within a specified region. The Clinical Lead will be the first line support for the nurses assigned to their clinics, assisting with clinical questions and supporting with infusions / injections when needed. The Clinical Lead will be responsible for scheduling of the clinics based on nurse availability, creating a draft for the Nurse Manager to approve. The position is responsible for assisting with quality audits and ensures their INVIVA clinics are compliant with health and safety regulations

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides clinical leadership to ensure clinical competency of nursing staff, engages staff in the use of evidence-based best practices, and promotes a culture of continuous practice improvement
  • Provides mentorship for new staff, following the onboarding guide
  • Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the clinical aspects of the nurses and acts as a resource to the staff in the applicable geographical region
  • Identifies performance gaps and works in collaboration with the Nurse Manager to create learning goals
  • Responsible for providing expertise, training and mentoring staff in the applicable region to ensure safe, high quality and consistent delivery of care.
  • Evaluates and monitors for conduct that is safe, legal and ethical. This requires ensuring the unit equipment and procedures used for the patients are proper and safe.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure excellent customer service
  • Manage time and resources effectively to meet objectives and maintain fiscal responsibility in clinics
  • Identify and coordinate activities with operations and management
  • Conducts quality audits to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Contributes to critical incident and complaint investigations related to nursing practices and conducts clinical audits of documentation, plans of care and the effectiveness of nursing care and services to ensure compliance with documentation standards, internal policies and procedures, and legislation.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends and legislation affecting the nursing care practices and promotes a culture of continuous practice improvement
  • Creates a draft schedule for each clinic within their region, a minimum of 3 months in advance, based on nurse availability. Ensures that nurses are meeting their commitment based on FTE
  • Acts as a change management champion for INVIVA, actively supporting and promoting change initiatives. The clinical lead will facilitate the adoption of the change by acting as an advocate and role model.
  • Other tasks deemed appropriate by Nurse Manager / Senior Nurse Manager The position will infuse 75% of their FTE and 25% of their FTE will be administrative in nature

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse, specific to the region responsible for 5 or more years of professional experience and a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a clinical medical or hospital environment with proven leadership abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, able to manage relationships with a proven track record of exceptional customer service.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on clinical expertise and clinic operations
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Ability to lead and manage change in a positive manner, as well as coach and mentor a team of professionals.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license to meet travel requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Provincial Regulatory requirements
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $39.79 - $66.36
