With approximately 450 staff, Peninsula Co-op operates 17 retail fuel and convenience centres, 10 liquor stores, 3 commercial card lock and home heating outlets, and a full-sized food store. The Co-op generates approximately $300 million in annual sales and donates over $500k each year to local charities. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a creative and organized Digital Marketing & Content Specialist with a passion for storytelling. This is a full-time, permanent, in-person position based at our Support Office (D100 – 2261 Keating X Road, Saanichton, BC, V8M 2A).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As part of our Central Operations team, you’ll play a key role in creating and managing content that strengthens our digital presence and builds loyalty across Peninsula Co-op and The Liquor Co. 1977. In this role, you will:

  • Create original, on-brand content for multiple platforms — from photos, videos, and animations to captions, short-form writing, and graphics.
  • Capture and edit visuals monthly at our stores, fuel sites, and community events, ensuring every touchpoint reflects our brand.
  • Edit and adapt creative assets, including campaign materials, user-generated content, and motion graphics.
  • Manage the day-to-day activity on our social media channels, including posts, reels, and stories.
  • Lead digital community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and mentions, and identifying opportunities for influencer partnerships and local collaborations.
  • Support and format weekly email campaigns, ensuring content is timely and engaging.
  • Keep our websites current through WordPress updates and manage retail promotions through Google Ads.
  • Track and monitor performance across platforms, prepare monthly reports highlighting top-performing content, and recommend improvements based on trends and insights.
  • Assist with testing and reporting to continuously strengthen campaign results.

WHAT YOU BRING

You have 2–4 years of experience in digital marketing, content creation, or social media management, supported by a diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. You’re comfortable using tools like Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp (or similar), Google Ads, WordPress CMS, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite, with solid skills in writing, design, and basic video editing. Creative and detail-oriented, you’re organized and able to manage multiple priorities, while bringing a collaborative spirit and clear communication style to your work. You’re proactive and responsive, with strong digital instincts, and you know how to use data and performance metrics to guide decisions and improve engagement.
