About the role

Residential Aide

Under the general direction of the Residential Supervisor, the Residential Aide promotes the overall wellness of each individual, participates in the development and implementation of personalized plans for each individual, supports the individual’s personal development, participates and ensures that individuals have a positive home environment in which to live, participates and ensures the daily completion of observations notes and reports, daily household chores, routine housekeeping, yard upkeep, snow shovelling, etc.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Bathing, Community Outings - frequently, Feeding, Follow Behaviour Support Plan, Household Chores, Incontinence Support, Lifting >44 lbs, Medication Administration, Personal Hygiene, Prepare Meals

Work Schedule**: Every other weekend Saturday & Sunday: 7am-3pm, 3-11pm, 11am-4pm, 6-9pm.**

Awake night: Every other Friday & Saturday: 11pm-9am; Sunday - Thursday 11pm-9am.

Hourly Wage: $18.60-19.95

Required EXPERIENCE: Experience with Indigenous Culture, Non-Verbal Communication, Seizures, Degenerative Brain disease/ cerebral atrophy

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 1-year experience in a related field of Human Service
  • Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Check
  • A vehicle and a valid driver’s license (with valid insurance, registration & acceptable driver’s abstract)

Specialized Medical Training Provided in Orientation: Enema administration, Suppository administration
