About the role
The Watts Internship Program is your chance to bring what you’ve learned in the classroom to life! You’ll dive into real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience while learning how business really works from the inside. During the program, you’ll get to roll up your sleeves and make an impact on day-to-day operations. Plus, you'll have tons of opportunities to network with passionate professionals across manufacturing, industrial engineering, and more—sparking new ideas through cross-department collaboration. It’s all about expanding your skills, challenging yourself, and exploring where your ambitions can take you!
Who you are:
- A second year or later electrical engineering or electronics technologist student.
- A partner with technical knowledge relevant to the details in 'What you will be doing'
- You will have an understanding of basic electronic components, circuits and design principles.
What You'll Do:
You will work on a range of electronic hardware development projects with guidance from senior Hardware Developers. The individual will contribute to new product development and product maintenance by completing tasks such as testing designs, building prototypes and constructing test stands.
- Soldering, assembling and wiring sample hardware.
- Testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware.
- Using electronic lab equipment to measure and monitor circuits.
- Designing and validating test stands for factory testing.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
- Assist in the creation of test procedures and checklists.
- Documenting test results.
- Uses Microsoft Office® and applicable graphic/PCB software.
