DZ Driver, Emergency Response Services
About the role
Key Responsibilities The Emergency Response Operator will respond to various incidents such as:
- Environmental and Industrial spills
- Clandestine laboratory decommissioning
- Highway incidents involving tractor trailers, accidents, and chemical leaks
- Train derailments involving hazardous chemicals, fires, and site safety planning.
- Marine operations mostly regarding fuel spills into open bodies of water. Involving boom deployment and boat operations.
- Weather event responses involving wind/ice storms, forest fires, and flooding.
- Chemical assessments and advisory services.
- Working alongside police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders.
- Incidents involving heavy equipment, vacuum trucks, and water blasters.
- Participating in job specific and health & safety training as required
- Operating his/her position in an efficient and safe manner
- Completing work related documentation and reporting
- Follow all established organizational policies and procedures
- Promote and participate in a work environment free of workplace harassment and violence
- Perform work in a safe manner, so as not to endanger oneself or others
- Reporting workplace hazards, accidents or other occurrences that may pose a risk to the organization or the safety of oneself or others
- Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Board Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act
- Participate in team/staff meetings when required
- Work in a manner that preserves confidentiality and minimizes risk

- Strong value in honesty, trainability, and growth.
- Highly Motivated
- Valid DZ and/or AZ license with a suitable drivers abstract ( Or willing to obtain within 3 months of employment)
- On-call work availability for emergency response
- Participate in pre-employment and post-incident drug & alcohol testing
- Valid Certification in First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment)
