About The Role We are seeking a Browser-Based Device (BBD) Engineer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding our capabilities across various connected TV ecosystems, including LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, and other browser-based platforms. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in developing high-performance applications tailored for browser-based devices, with a keen understanding of device-specific constraints and optimization strategies. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated TV applications, ensuring they perform smoothly and reliably across multiple platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that impact millions of viewers globally, requiring a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and attention to detail.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience developing commercial TV applications for platforms such as LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, or similar. Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS is essential, along with familiarity with frameworks such as React, Enact, and platform-specific SDKs. Experience with application packaging, certification, and deployment processes for TV app stores is required. A strong understanding of media playback APIs, DRM, buffering, and adaptive streaming technologies is crucial. Candidates should also have experience integrating applications with HTTP and WebSocket APIs, as well as knowledge of UI rendering, memory management, and performance optimization on constrained hardware. Excellent communication skills, collaborative mindset, and experience with automated testing frameworks are also highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality browser-based device applications for LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, and other platforms.
• Manage the full application lifecycle—from initial concept and design to store submission, certification, and post-release support.
• Implement pixel-perfect user interfaces based on Figma designs, customizing for device-specific capabilities and limitations.
• Build and extend SDK components tailored for BBD platforms to enhance functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure smooth playback, responsive UI, and high performance on constrained devices.
• Participate in on-call rotations, providing incident management and quick resolution of issues.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and QA teams to deliver features on time and meet quality standards.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in connected TV technology and incorporate best practices into development processes.
