NATURE OF THE WORK
The Daycare Technician is responsible for developing a program of activities for the day care service and ensuring supervision so as to foster, in keeping with the educational project of the school, the overall development of students, while taking into account their interests and needs as well as the rules and see to the general well-being of students and ensure their health and safety. In addition, you will be required to:

Organize special activities, especially during pedagogical days;
-
Carry out some or all of the duties of a day care service educator on occasion;
-
Draw up the operating rules of the day care service and the procedures for registering, taking attendance as well as welcoming and accompanying students until they leave with their parents;
-
Prepare and conduct information meetings intended for parents concerning the organization and operation of the day care service, inform parents and students of the rules established;
-
Verify the students’ attendance reports; enter pertinent data using the appropriate software and produce various reports and statistics; enter information provided by the educator concerning students’ behaviour;
-
Ensure communication between the day care service and the school administration, parents, school board staff and outside organizations.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
-
Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Early Childhood Education or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority;
-
Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of the following:
-
a standard first-aid course of at least eight (8)-hour duration; or
-
a refresher course of at least six (6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in subparagraph 1.
