Primary Purpose of Position:
We are seeking a Demolition Labourer to join our team and support a major decommissioning project based in Northwest Territories. This is a two-year contract position and a great opportunity to be part of a significant, long-term initiative that offers both career growth and job stability in a unique northern environment.
This position will be based on-site on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks off rotation schedule, with accommodations, travel, and meals fully covered. The Demolition Labourer is a team member of the demolition crew and as such will be required to perform a variety of tasks involving physical labour. The Demolition Labourer will be responsible for the efficient demolition according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies. They are responsible for a variety of general duties and assisting skilled trade’s people.
Job Duties
- Support the controlled decommissioning of a mine site through the safe dismantling, demolition, and removal of surface infrastructure.
- Safely load, unload, and handle metal and demolition materials from trucks and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safe work practices.
- Read and interpret basic electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings as required.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist with demolition activities, including lifting and disposing of debris into designated bins or trucks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite, including site preparation and cleanup.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support project requirements.

Position Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
Torch experience is a strong asset.
Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred.
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
Time management skills.
Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams is an asset.
Critical eye for identifying defects.
Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Work Conditions
Job requires ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.)
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that potential can include extreme weather.
Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.
Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
Noise level is generally loud.
Excellent stamina is required.
