Job Description Summary
We are seeking an Power BI Specialist to support the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports for Finance stakeholders. This role will work closely with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and business teams to translate financial data into meaningful insights that support decision-making.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in Microsoft Power BI, solid understanding of finance processes, and the ability to transform complex datasets into intuitive visualizations.
Position Type : 1- year contract
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Reports to: Director, Accounting
Job Description
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for finance processes (e.g., Inventory reporting, Customer Rebates , budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting, variance analysis, KPI tracking).
- Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical reporting solutions.
- Build and optimize data models using Power BI, including DAX calculations, measures, and relationships.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Power Query and related data transformation tools.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across financial reports.
- Work with data from ERP systems, financial databases, and other enterprise sources.
- Optimize report performance and troubleshoot issues related to data refresh and visualization.
- Document data models, report logic, and business definitions.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI dashboards and self-service reporting capabilities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within finance reporting and analytics.
Qualifications:

3–5 years of experience in BI/reporting roles, with at least 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Power BI.

Strong proficiency in:
- Power BI Desktop & Service
- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
- Power Query (M language)
- Data modeling concepts

Experience working with financial data (GL, AP, AR, budgeting, forecasting, cost centers, etc.).

Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles.

Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

Experience integrating data from ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.) is an asset.

Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
The anticipated salary range for this position:
$81,600.00 - $122,400.00 Annual
