The successful candidate will have proven experience in concrete batching or a similar role. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, capable of working both independently and within a team environment. A strong work ethic and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.

Job Description

• Responsible for mixing specific components to make concrete

• Knowledge of batching equipment, operations, and processes

• Document, record, and monitor Batch Plant data

• Maintaining and cleaning batch plants, mixers, carts, and aggregate systems

• Communicate with the pouring crew, shop manages, and quality control crew

• Follow instructions, procedures, and schedules as outlined in batch plant manuals, manufacture specifications, and safety manual

• Safely operate overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment

• Keep an adequate supply of batching materials

• Assist QC personnel in concrete testing

• Troubleshoot issues and report to the foreman or supervisor

• Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures

Requirements

• Applicants successful in the interview process will be asked to complete a pre-employment assessment as part of the final hiring process

• Previous experience batching concrete or similar role

• Minimum 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime

• Valid Class 5 license and reliable transportation

• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new programs

• Familiar with the Canadian Standard Association

• Able to work under minimal supervision

• Physically fit to perform demanding work for extended periods

• Able to lift at least 50lbs

• Comfortable working at heights with proper safety restraints

• Able to work independently or with a crew

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail

• Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta

• Electronically and mechanically inclined, with strong troubleshooting skills
