What You'll Be Doing The Senior Director, Marketing Modernization is responsible for developing the strategy, roadmap and business cases for delivering one-to-one direct and digital marketing for CIBC clients that will lead CIBC to become the #1 bank in client experience. The incumbent will align marketing technology and data with CIBC’s purpose and enterprise goals, serve as business lead for transformative marketing technology projects, and evaluate and choose technology solutions. As the technology advisor to marketing leaders, the Senior Director, Marketing Modernization will define the data and modernization solutions required to achieve the digital and direct strategy. The role supports the Brand & Marketing team by advising on technical and data use cases, choosing and implementing solutions for marketing modernization including a new digital asset management solution, client preference center, and data and channel integration.
Key areas of focus will be requirements, use cases, design, setup and test of marketing solutions that support personalized client centric marketing campaigns.
The incumbent will also oversee ongoing data roadmap initiatives for marketing technology in support of greater personalization and effectiveness.

- Strategy Development and Delivery - Lead the vision, business case and prioritized delivery of marketing modernization initiatives. This will include identifying key use cases and requirements and working closely with partners to define the business benefits associated with each use case.
- Liaising with technology and vendors to obtain cost estimates and solutioning, and constructing business case and with payback under two years.
- Sharing details on the vision, compelling story, and quantified business benefits (revenue growth, cost savings) with stakeholder groups across our Bank.
- Serving as the project business lead for the successful delivery and setup.
- Overseeing change management requirements and delivery including training, communications, and pulse-checks.
- Develop a multi-year roadmap to build new and modernize existing client journeys that enables these end to end, omni-channel experiences and mobilize a cross-functional team to deliver on roadmap.
- Scale and grow the journey design practice across marketing and provide coaching and guidance on design and build of client journeys.
- Maintain and document library of existing journeys and set governance process for standardization, prioritization and optimization of client journeys.
- Oversee Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data initiatives, and Digital online marketing initiatives.
- Provide highly specialized advice and consultation to technology and business partners to setup transformational changes to the marketing program.
- In partnership with key stakeholders, design end to end omni-channel experiences across acquisition, engagement & service based on client behaviours, business strategy and operating models.
- Research, recommend and implement new marketing technology products and tools that are cross channel and cross product. This includes 17 existing channels and the delivery of emerging channels to improve business performance.
- Optimize technology investment by implementing additional use cases and processes that take advantage of existing capabilities.
- This role will also take ownership of CASL compliance management for the organization.
- Verify that the ecosystem accurately meets defined business expectations including overseeing user acceptance testing and confirming that performance requirements are achieved.
- Lead analytical and business impact assessments for input into business cases.
- Oversee improvements to existing business processes to increase campaign volume, efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Consult with stakeholders to optimize client journey trigger campaigns and develop business rules and automation.
- Partner with key stakeholders to develop and deliver Marketing data management strategy to ensure that the development and support of Marketing data is consistent with CIBC’s Brand and Marketing strategy, CIBC’s architecture strategy, while also ensuring accurate, comprehensive, timely and cost-effective solutions to meet internal requirements.
- Change Management and new user support of new marketing technology rollouts.
- Lead user acceptance testing while correcting any issues that arise.
- Provide training & support to Brand & Marketing team resources with the effective use of Marketing Technology products.
- Lead Marketing project resources in their work with product groups, technical leads, and stakeholders to define, pilot and launch new functionalities within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Manage the delivery of new and enhanced initiatives within CIBC’s marketing technology and personalization roadmap.
- Oversee a cross functional team of Technology, Marketing, and product partners to deliver integrated marketing capabilities.
