Our Logistics Team is looking for a sharp, proactive Customs Specialist to lead cross-border trade operations across Canada, the U.S., and beyond. You’ll own tariff classification, manage import/export documentation, and ensure compliance with customs regulations all while collaborating across departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position offers a flexible hybrid averaging 60% onsite.

What You’ll Do:

  • Classify products with accurate HS codes and maintain a centralized database
  • Ensure compliance with CBSA, CBP, and global customs rules
  • Manage import/export docs, CUSMA/USMCA paperwork, and declarations
  • Lead duty drawback claims and post-entry corrections
  • Resolve customs issues and optimize duty strategies across Canada and the U.S.
  • Build strong relationships with brokers, forwarders, and regulators ensuring compliant cross-border transactions and processes are adhered to
  • Support audits and maintain accurate SOPs and documents
  • Train internal teams and promote trade compliance best practices
  • Collaborate across Logistics, Finance, Procurement, IT, and Production

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years in customs/trade compliance (manufacturing preferred)
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation (active or in progress) is preferred
  • Deep knowledge of CUSMA/USMCA and Harmonized System (HS) classification
  • Experience with audits, post-entry adjustments, and trade tools
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and ability to manage competing priorities and projects
  • Effective communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally across the organization and externally
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Membership in CSCB, CITT, IE Canada, or CME an asset
  • Experience delivering internal training an asset
  • Familiarity with manufacturing logistics challenges an asset
