Unit Clerk II (Primary Care Access Clinic - Integrated Care)
About the role
OVERVIEW
To provide administrative support to primary care, allied health, and community providers within the integrated care programs.
Acts as a Receptionist and performs clerical duties including data entry, appointment booking, and patient navigation. Relates to patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner and interacts collaboratively with the interdisciplinary staff to provide patient-centered care. Ability to navigate and manage multiple health information platforms and digital tools to support patient care and clinic operations and flow required to be successful in the position.
EDUCATION

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent educational preparation, Post-secondary education an asset.

Medical Secretary certificate or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of relevant recent experience working as a unit clerk in an outpatient or primary care setting required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Demonstrated skill in use of ESM and Powerchart, required (PS Suite experience an asset)
- Proficiency in typing and in the use of computers and various software and applications such as MS Office, Microsoft 365, and other web-based tools.
- Demonstrated skill in SAP/SRM preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Computer literacy required; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent keyboarding skills. Demonstrates ability to provide patient centred, customer service care
- Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and discretion inmatters related to patients, staff, and hospital affairs.
- Able to work independently as well as work in a team environment.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills. Good work and attendance record required.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working in diverse communities and marginalized communities.
- Knowledge of and commitment to anti-racist, anti-oppressive principles, and practice Non-judgmental/non-confrontational attitude
