About AlayaCare

At AlayaCare, we’re more than just a fast-growing SaaS company, we’re a team of people passionate about transforming home healthcare. Our cloud-based platform empowers care providers around the world to deliver better outcomes for their clients. With 550+ employees across Canada, the US, Australia, and Brazil, we’re united by a shared mission and a strong culture of transparency, growth, and human connection. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned expert, AlayaCare offers the opportunity to grow your impact, your skills, and your career.

About the Role

As Controller, North America, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of AlayaCare's financial reporting and accounting operations across Canada and the United States, supporting our mission to transform home and community care worldwide. You'll combine deep technical accounting expertise with emerging leadership responsibilities, ensuring North American financials are reported accurately under IFRS, internal controls remain strong, and the accounting team is supported and developed. Reporting to the Director, Finance, you'll partner closely with FP&A, the global Controller function, Revenue Operations, and external auditors while leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of our financial operations. As AlayaCare continues to scale as a SaaS business, you'll help ensure our accounting function evolves alongside the complexity of subscription-based revenue, multi-currency operations, and changing regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do

Lead the North American month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, delivering timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and key account reconciliations for Canadian and U.S. entities, ensuring complete and accurate financial records. Review and reconcile revenue transactions under IFRS 15, including deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract modifications, to ensure accurate SaaS revenue recognition. Oversee subscription revenue accounting for multi-element arrangements and variable consideration, including deferred revenue and unbilled accounts receivable schedules. Manage Canadian and U.S. indirect tax filings and reconciliations, and support corporate income tax compliance and incentive programs such as SR&ED and CDAE. Lead the annual and interim audit process for North America, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors and preparing supporting schedules and documentation. Coach, mentor, and develop members of the North American accounting team, providing guidance on complex accounting matters while supporting hiring and onboarding. Partner with FP&A, Revenue Operations, and the global Controller function on financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives, while driving process improvements through NetSuite, automation, and AI-enabled tools.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or supervisory role. CPA designation required (CPA, CA or CPA, CMA). Strong knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 15, multi-entity consolidation. Experience in a SaaS or technology environment, with familiarity with subscription revenue models and ARR/MRR metrics. Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax compliance requirements. Experience leading or supporting external audits. Strong leadership, coaching, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve accounting processes and efficiency. Experience with NetSuite is a strong asset; Big Four/public accounting, Shareworks, and equity compensation experience are considered assets.
