About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our dynamic security team. In this remote role, you will be instrumental in strengthening our detection and incident response frameworks. Your expertise will help shape and enhance our security posture, ensuring that 1Password remains resilient against evolving cyber threats. You will lead initiatives that optimize detection capabilities, automate response workflows, and improve our overall security infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering a robust security culture within a forward-thinking organization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in detection engineering and incident handling, with a proven track record of implementing effective security measures in a complex environment.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of professional experience in security-focused roles, particularly in detection engineering and incident response. Proficiency with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline detection and response processes. Strong understanding of cyber attacker techniques, tactics, and procedures. Hands-on experience with forensic analysis tools across various systems and environments. Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex security concepts to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent are preferred.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and refine security detection capabilities to identify potential threats proactively. Oversee and conduct detailed incident investigations, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Drive continuous improvements to security logging and monitoring processes to enhance visibility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate detection tools and share threat intelligence. Implement automation in detection workflows to increase efficiency and reduce response times. Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, techniques, and industry best practices. Contribute to the development of security policies, procedures, and incident response plans. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of security awareness and excellence.
