About the role

The YMCA Residence promotes inclusion and social cohesion for some of the most vulnerable members of society by welcoming and providing accommodation to refugees and asylum seekers. Inspired by the challenge of customer service and skilled at identifying clients’ needs through active listening, the selected candidate will be responsible for optimizing the customer experience of every resident. We are looking for proactive individuals who embody the YMCA spirit: friendly, dynamic, and passionate.

The Challenge We Offer You

Welcome residents and visitors to the center, provide information, and direct them as needed. Listen to clients to identify their needs and interests and guide them in their choices. Process the registration of new arrivals. Deliver high-quality customer service in accordance with SAM standards and YMCA Quebec policies. Answer telephone calls and route them appropriately. Take initiative in responding to unexpected situations and the center’s daily needs. Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures regarding the protection of children and vulnerable persons. Understand and embrace the value of philanthropy within the role and the Association, and participate in fundraising activities and events.

Be available to work up to 35 hours per week on day, evening, and night shifts. Have excellent verbal and written French skills. Have intermediate English proficiency, as the employee will communicate regularly in English, both verbally and in writing. Be able to communicate in Spanish (an asset). Be able to work a flexible and variable schedule. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Have no criminal record or legal impediment related to the position.

Schedule

Day Shift 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Evening Shift 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Night Shift 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Note

This is a 3-month contract position with the possibility of extension.
