Role Description The Safety & Compliance Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Aylmer, ON, responsible for supporting and monitoring safety and regulatory compliance across daily operations. The coordinator will develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures to meet transportation and workplace regulations. Daily tasks include conducting internal audits and inspections, tracking incident reports, maintaining compliance documentation, and preparing reports. This role will coordinate and deliver safety training and refresher sessions for drivers and staff, including orientation, toolbox talks, and targeted coaching. The coordinator will also collaborate with operations, HR, and management to resolve safety issues, support corrective actions, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Must be knowledgeable with ELD's, HOS and Damage and accident claims. Qualifications Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, including transportation and workplace safety regulations, and the ability to interpret and apply relevant standards. Strong analytical skills to review incident data, audit findings, and performance metrics, and to recommend practical corrective and preventive actions. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with drivers, operations staff, and leadership, and to prepare clear reports and documentation. Experience training, coaching, or presentations related to safety, policies, or procedures in a workplace environment. Background in auditing or inspections, including planning, conducting, and documenting internal safety and compliance audits. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational setting. Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., MS Office or similar tools) and the ability to maintain digital records and reports. Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or a similar industry, and relevant education or certification in health and safety, compliance, or a related field is an asset.
