Job Description: Use digital simulation and modelling to design, test, and optimize industrial automation systems in a virtual environment before they are built.

Reporting to: Controls Engineering Supervisor

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setup and perform dynamic simulation analysis on designs.
• Develop and maintain intelligent models of equipment.
• PLC program development using Studio 5000 and TIA Portal.
• Lead the virtual commissioning of projects.
• Robot programming (Fanuc, ABB, Nachi, Kuka)
• Configure robot TCP’s and develop optimized robot paths.
• Work with a team of engineering and manufacturing specialists to develop process flow.
• Perform cycle time analysis and optimization on existing and new processes.
• Maintain project timing, meeting deadlines on deliverables.
• Promote and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements/Experience:

• 3+ years robot and/or PLC programming.
• 2+ years Process Simulate or similar simulation software experience.
• SolidWorks experience a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical assembly drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s license and Canadian Passport.

Education:

Electrical Technology Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
