Trotter & Morton Building Technologies is a multi-service construction company providing electrical, mechanical and metal work for a wide variety of commercial and industrial building projects. We are currently looking for a full-time Junior Safety Officer to join the team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections and assist in identifying and reporting unsafe acts or conditions

  • Participate in toolbox and safety meetings, ensuring consistent communication of safety expectations

  • Support supervisors and HSE Coordinators with incident reporting and follow-up actions

  • Assist in completing hazard assessments, safety documentation, and site audits

  • Help organize and track safety training, certifications, and orientation records

  • Support implementation of company safety policies, procedures, and programs

  • Participate in safety initiatives and campaigns to reinforce a strong safety culture

  • Maintain confidentiality in dealing with employee and company information

  • Perform other duties as assigned by HSE Coordinators or site management

Required Skills

  • Professional, approachable and excellent customer service skills

  • Attention to detail, organization and willingness to learn

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage and influence individuals

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Required Experience and Education

  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED

  • Working towards NCSO designation would be considered an asset

  • 1–2 years of experience in a Health and Safety or construction-related role (field experience preferred)

  • Basic understanding of OHS legislation and construction safety practices

Additional Requirements

  • Travel to various jobsites is required
