About the role
We are on the lookout for Turf Maintenance, General Labourer to join our team, where your “office” is one of Nova Scotia’s beautiful outdoor settings. If you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in seeing the results of your hard work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! As Turf Maintenance, General Labourer, you’ll play an important role in the daily care and upkeep of the golf course, helping to create outstanding playing conditions and a welcoming environment for members and guests. Working alongside a supportive and knowledgeable team, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in turf care, equipment operation, and course maintenance while contributing to the high standards that make the course shine.
Please note that applicants must be available to work through the end of the golf season, currently anticipated to be October 31, 2026.
How you’ll spend your day
Maintain all playing surfaces (e.g. greens, tees, fairways, and roughs) and landscaped on the property. Prepare divot mixtures and properly fill divots on the driving range and course on a daily basis. Monitor irrigation needs, hand-watering greens or hotspots during dry conditions, and assisting with irrigation system maintenance or repairs. Daily raking and grooming of sand bunkers to keep edges neat and surfaces smooth. Operate equipment such as green mowers, tee mowers, bunker rakes, and a variety of other powered and non-powered hand tools. Maintain fuel levels for all equipment used daily, report equipment problems to management immediately. Assist or conduct fertilizer and pesticide applications as needed. Always adhere to Health & Safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Observe all safety practices and procedures and adhere to all policies set forth by Glen Arbour Golf Course. Ensure quality and attention to detail exists in all work performed (accurate, thorough, and timely) What will help you thrive: Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation. Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, groundskeeping, or a similar outdoor labour role is considered an asset. Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays in a variety of weather conditions. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs regularly. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
