The Millwright Apprentice will play a key role in keeping DIRTT’s equipment and machinery operating safely and efficiently to meet production targets and maintain high quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on real maintenance tasks, learn to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, and gain practical experience with a wide range of tools, industrial equipment, and safety procedures. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who values continuous learning, approaches challenges with a solution-oriented mindset and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Help perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks
- Work with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and welding equipment
- Follow safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures
- Support team members on various projects
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of work performed
What You’ll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board as at least a 2nd year Millwright apprentice
- Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn
- Basic understanding of industrial or manufacturing equipment is an asset
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, climbing, standing for long periods)
- Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
