##Responsibilities
The Shipper/Receiver (Shipping Clerk) is responsible for coordinating and executing the timely and accurate shipment of outgoing merchandise and online orders, as well as managing the vendor returns process for the Book Store, Computer Store and General Merchandise. The role ensures products are returned within established timelines, return authorizations and extensions are obtained as required, and all related documentation and records are accurately prepared and maintained. The role supports efficient inventory flow by liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders, preparing shipments in accordance with established procedures, maintaining packaging supplies, and assisting with receiving, inventory activities, and special projects as required.
##Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma
Experience:
- 2 years of shipping/receiving experience and with warehousing and inventory processes
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of inventory control systems and shipping/receiving processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate Western Retail Services’ events and activities, particularly seasonal needs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change
- A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office in order to input data into spreadsheets and/or records systems with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology
- Familiarity with software applications used by Western preferred – e.g. inventory management software (such as Bookware)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs using proper ergonomic procedures and equipment
