About the role
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing and administering a variety of leaves such as maternity/parental, leaves of absence without pay, sabbatical leaves and summer leaves, as provided for under the Collective Agreements, HR Policies.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the Employment Standards Act
- Familiarity with the provisions Employment Insurance Act, HR Policies and the various Collective Agreements in force at the university
- Knowledge of payroll administration procedures and processes
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Bachelor's degree
- C.E.B.S. (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation preferred
- Minimum of two years of previous experience leave administration or a role that requires the ability to produce complex calculations
