Your role:
- Prepare bookkeeping and accounting records, payroll, financial statements, tax remittances, etc.
- Reconciliation of accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Invoice and send payments to vendors
- Preparing various types of tax filings, HST, and other compliance returns
- CRA correspondence, requests, and audits – ensure your work is easy to audit
- Journal Entries, Working Papers, assisting with T2 Returns, and Compilation Engagement Financial Statements
- Calculation of amounts and preparation of invoices to send to customers
- Process internal accounting records leveraging tech stack
- Ability and interest to leverage technology in the role
What you bring to the table:
- Completion of a diploma/certificate in Business Administration or Accounting
- 5+ years of Accounting and Bookkeeping experience required
- Experience working in a professional services environment is an asset
- Keen attention to detail, time management, and organization are essential
- Strong trusting relationship building skills are important, including written and verbal communications skills as well as a collaborative client service approach
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, Xero, and Microsoft Office Suite software and aptitude to learn new cloud accounting apps and integrations are valuable would include tech stack (QBO, Plooto, Dext, Reach Reporting)
- You can anticipate your client’s and team’s needs, take ownership and initiative of the work, and assist proactively internally and externally for optimal outcomes
- Professional judgment and confidentiality are imperative
- Candidates must possess a basic knowledge of Canadian sales tax rules and compliance, including GST/HST regulations, provincial sales tax requirements, and the ability to navigate complex tax scenarios to ensure accurate and timely reporting
