About the role
Child Respite Support Aide
Currently we have a full-time position supporting a child with developmental disabilities.
The Company:
Parkland C.L.A.S.S. is a community-based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights. We support over 380 Individuals in Central Alberta.
The Position:
This is a unique position. All hours are to be completed in your home to give the family a break. You must pass a home safety check completed by the CSHP Coordinator. None smoking home/vehicle. No smoking in the home/vehicle even when the child is not there. The child vomits up feed and would be best served in a home with no carpet. Child/foster family is not responsible for cleaning expenses. Up to $100 to be reimbursed for mileage. Must be able to attend medical appointments with the Foster Parent if scheduled on shift. Child is 1.5 years old and lives in Blackfalds.
Required Duties: Bathing, Community Outings - daily, Feeding, Incontinence Support, Lifting <22 lbs, Medication Administration, Personal Hygiene, Gtube feeds, suctioning, medication administration
Assets: Experience with G-Tube Feeding, Indigenous Culture, Non-Verbal Communication, Seizures, Visual Impairment, Quadriplegic, Dystonic Tremor
Hourly wage: $18.60 - $19.95
Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am-4pm
The Requirements:
Completion of Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma
1-year experience in a related field of Human Service
Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Check
Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle (with valid insurance & registration) with Acceptable Driver’s Abstract
