What You’ll Do Day-To-Day This position is responsible for performing inspections, surveillance, supplier oversight at Framatome Facilities and CANDU sites to ensure that appropriate controls have been defined and implemented to meet customer, regulatory, code and standard requirements. Incumbents must be familiar with fundamental Code and Standard fundamental Code and Standard Mechanical Discipline (TSSA/ ASME/W59), for the mechanical candidate QA concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Plans, schedules and conducts independent assessments and surveillance of materials and products.
  • Reviews documents, prepares checklists, conducts assessment interviews and prepares assessment reports.
  • Ensures and documents that corrective actions are taken based on report findings.
  • Completes Inspection and Test Plans technical reviews and preparations.
  • Able to perform receipt inspections of incoming project materials to procurement requirements.
  • Reviews QA procedures to verify compliance with ISO9001/CSA N299.1/CSA N286/ CSA N285/ CSA B51 as applicable.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of CNSC, TSSA or other pertinent regulations and industry codes and standards.
  • Develops and implements nuclear and/or non-nuclear quality assurance procedures to be followed for design, procurement, construction and/or operation of materials and/or processes.
  • Reviews quality assurance specifications, test reports and other documentation to ensure that safety and quality assurance requirements are met.
  • Performs in process inspections and final inspections.
  • Supports Construction supervision on maintaining and updating the comprehensive work packages, including inspection and test plans.
  • Supports the measuring and testing equipment controls program.
  • Creates History Dockets based on code and contractual requirements.
  • Inspect and review contractors' and vendors' work for compliance with QA standards and contractual requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in nuclear quality assurance.
  • Advanced knowledge of related engineering and quality assurance standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
