Position Overview
HGH is looking for a Director with dual portfolios in Pharmacy Services and Emergency Preparedness for a strategic and operational leadership role that spans two critical domains.
This is a temporary full-time position for approximately 7 months.
As an administrator, the director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy, supervision of staff (pharmacy technicians, pharmacists) and the safe and cost-effective distribution and storage of medications throughout the hospital.
The Director, as a member of the hospital management team, participates in hospital-wide management activities and is accountable for service planning, implementation and integration of plans that are in alignment with the Department, Program and Corporate direction. The Director will assist with or lead corporate projects and initiatives that are specifically limited or associated with the program under his/her responsibility.
For the Emergency Preparedness portfolio, the Director is responsible for emergency preparedness for the hospital. Following best practices and working with community stakeholders, the incumbent will manage the hospital’s readiness to address emergencies of all types.
The incumbent will also support the security guard team and supervise the morgue service.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
- Pharmacy Services Responsibilities

Operational Oversight: Manage all aspects of the hospital pharmacy, including medication procurement, storage, dispensing, and distribution.

Staff Leadership: Recruit, supervise and evaluate pharmacists and technicians; foster continuous professional development.

Budget and Resource Management: Develop and monitor departmental budgets, control costs, and implement efficiency measures.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations governing pharmaceuticals.

- Emergency Preparedness Responsibilities
- Emergency Operations Planning (EOP): Maintain and revise a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan for the hospital.
- Training and Simulation: Organize drills and staff training for emergency response.
- Coordination with Agencies: Collaborate with external agencies for disaster response.
Criminal Check
As a pre-condition of employment:
