Job Summary

Reporting to the Research Scientist and under supervision of the PI, the Mass Spectrometry Analyst will support a research program focused on understanding how metabolism regulates immunity in the context of vaccine response. The Analyst will use mass spectrometry based multi-omics analysis to characterize metabolic-immune interactions across a variety of in vitro, pre-clinical and clinical models. By working within a collaborative, multi-institutional network, the position will contribute to advancing translational discoveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute LC-MS studies using human and mouse models to support research objectives.

  • Generate, analyze, and integrate metabolomic and proteomic datasets.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, samples, and bioinformatics resources.

  • Manage biological samples and maintain accurate records in compliance with biosafety and ethics standards.

  • Contribute to manuscripts, reports, presentations, and knowledge translation activities, communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Note

Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, with a minimum of two-three years’ research experience in metabolomics and/or proteomics (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).

  • Demonstrated expertise in sample preparation, chromatography, mass spectrometry, and analysis across diverse metabolite and protein classes.

  • Strong knowledge of immunometabolic pathways and their application in research contexts.

  • Experience working with animal and human clinical samples, including proficiency in MS data acquisition, analysis tools, and bioinformatic integration methods.

  • Excellent scientific communication skills (manuscripts, presentations) with strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative abilities in multidisciplinary and multi-institutional teams.
