About the role

National Process Equipment Inc. ("NatPro") is Canada's largest national distributor of pumps, service and repairs, integrated systems packages, compressors and related process equipment. Founded in 1998, NatPro is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta and operates out of eight locations across Eastern and Western Canada. NatPro is focused on serving customers in the oil & gas, municipal, fire, mining and general industrial markets.

DXP|Natpro is looking to hire a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to Natpro’s quality and productivity standards. This position is for our Edmonton Distribution Warehouse.

The Shipper / Receiver will :

  • Manage loading dock activities
  • Be responsible for day-to-day processing of electronic shipping and receiving
  • Coordinate inter-office material transfers

In this role, you will be responsible to:

  • Receiving goods and verifying packaging quantities and conditions
  • Electronic e-receiving and shipping of standard inventory
  • Manage and controlling of standard inventory
  • Stock transfers between branches
  • Completing waybills and arranging for carriers
  • Communicating to appropriate groups upon receipt of materials
  • Organize and clean work area both in shop and yard as part of the shop team
  • Deal with freight damage claims and inspectors
  • Involved with yearly inventory count
  • Perform a daily cycle count and submit reports

EDUCATIONAL TRAINING, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, APTITUDE

You must have:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a busy shop as a shipper/receiver
  • Computer skills, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Forklift, Overhead Crane, WHMIS, First Aid certification considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills, a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a busy team.
  • Must be physically capable of handling heavy items.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Shop floor environment, can be noisy, physically demanding
  • Ability to climb/bend/balance in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment testing; Audio, Visual & Functional Back Assessment. (Fitness-To-Work)
