HVAC Technical Services Manager
About the role
Lead technical support, field service, and training for Daikin products within the assigned regional service area. The role requires living within the region to ensure rapid response, strong dealer support, and effective on‑site troubleshooting. Primary function VRV and light commercial/ Secondary function unitary single phase equipment roughly 70/30 split Main Responsibilities Deliver reliable, prompt, empathetic technical support to customers and distributors. Conduct VRV/VRF system diagnostics, performance evaluations, and field investigations. Apply strong refrigeration and air‑conditioning knowledge to resolve complex issues. Perform job‑site visits to evaluate installation quality and system operation. Validate installations using Daikin engineering, service, and installation manuals. Gather Voice of Customer insights to identify early quality trends. Complete detailed field service reports to support product integrity and reliability. Support service bulletins, corrective actions, and warranty processes. Provide technical training to dealers, contractors, and distributor trainers. Troubleshoot HVAC systems remotely and help de‑escalate customer concerns. Participate in regional projects and support sales growth through technical expertise.
Skills & Competencies
Strong VRV/VRF system knowledge and hands‑on troubleshooting ability. Solid foundation in refrigeration and air‑conditioning principles. Excellent communication, public speaking, and customer‑facing skills. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organization, time management, and multi‑project coordination. Ability to remain calm and solution‑focused during escalations. Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently in the field.
Experience
Minimum 5 years technical support experience required. Minimum 1-year technical training experience preferred. Must live within the regional service area to meet response expectations.
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED equivalent HVAC training/certification required Physical Requirements/Work Environment Must be able to perform essential and additional responsibilities. Ability to climb ladders and lift 50lbs. Travel as required depending on territory. Work within confines of typical job sites including attics, crawl spaces and roof tops in challenging climates.
Pay Range: $80,0000-$121,000k
